Open Gardens 2023

Weston Favell Open Gardens
Hidden Gems
2023

First of all a huge thank you to the gardeners of the nine gardens which were able to open and welcome over 400 visitors this year, and there were lots of children too, harder to keep track of how many as they entered free.

The gardens all looked wonderful and all so different, many commented on the variety this year and how enjoyable it was to visit them all.

Secondly another huge thank you to the team of people who helped at the church and church hall, providing those delicious refreshments, selling programmes, running the tombola, providing that fabulous organ music and the gorgeous flowers in the church, the church ‘sitters’ and all the running around and fetching and carrying from the ‘Residents’. Also to the Northamptonshire Bonsai Society for adding to the day with their lovely display and the Hedgehog charity stall for providing further interest as well as raising money to help look after all our many local hedgehogs.

Thirdly another huge thank you to all the donators of those lovely cakes, all used up on the day, and generous gifts of tombola items, there were some super prizes to be won.

And lastly a huge thank you to all of you who took the time to visit the gardens, church and church hall and make it all worthwhile. I do hope you enjoyed your time in them as much as we, the gardeners and helpers, enjoyed our tour on the day before.

With over 400 paying visitors, many of whom contributed more by visiting the church hall for refreshments and supporting the Tombola, the huge amount of £2600 was raised and sent to support the very worthwhile charity Home-Start Northampton.
